Starbucks - St Katharine's Dock - Tower Hill

St Katharine's Docks, Pavillon, London E1W 1LA

30-03-2008 (actualizado el 15-06-2010)

I would never normally take the time to recommend a disgustingly successful chain like Starbucks, but I'm guessing that most people will never have visited this branch, and it's a little bit special. Right on the water, this Starbucks is beautifully situated overlooking the port and is a lovely place to sit and relax. It is also located in a really lovely old-fashioned building, so it is a definite improvement on the usual souless establishments.

Trojka Russian Restaurant - Primrose Hill

101 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 8UR

29-06-2008 (actualizado el 17-08-2008)

I discovered this restaurant recently when my whole family went out to eat to celebrate my brother’s birthday - it’s great for large parties because it’s so affordable and really great quality, plus most people haven’t had Russian food before so it’s a bit different and exciting! Their soups are really great, and the ratatouille was a hit.I’d really recommend it.

Ship & Shovell - Embankment

1-3 Craven Passage, Charing Cross, London WC2N 5PH

29-06-2008 (actualizado el 17-08-2008)

If I was a person who loved beer than this would be an absolutely awesome pub…as it is i just think it’s pretty great! it’s really cosy and welcoming, and the two separate sections make it nice and quirky.

St Martin's Lane - Covent Garden

45 St. Martin's Lane, Charing Cross, London WC2N 4HX

29-06-2008 (actualizado el 17-08-2008)

Wow this place is sooo stylish and trendy, but dont let that make you think it’s going to be stuck-up and not friendly. If you’re lucky enough to spend some time in this posh hotel, you’ll be treated very well by the friendly staff, and have a great time in the luxurious rooms.

Hakkasan - Fitzrovia

8 Hanway Place, London W1T 1HD

29-06-2008 (actualizado el 17-08-2008)

I went here with some people for work, and was really looking forward to it because of all the hype…and it certainly lived up to it! The food is so delicious and there i such a varied choice on offer. The interior is a bit strange, and slightly claustrophic, but all in all it was a great experience.

The Hospital Club - Covent Garden

24 Endell Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9HQ

29-06-2008

I have been to The Hospital quite a few times, but every time has been for fim screenings so i can preally only comment on the screening rooms, the staff at reception, and the toilets! But you can judge most pplaces by the toilets and, well, the ones in The Hospital are very nice! It’s a classy building and has very helpful staff, so I’d be interested to go back and exploe what else it has to offer, beyond screening rooms!

barry james juiwaller nice to see you
perhaps you would be interested to go back and exploe your pspelling

Gordons Wine Bar - Embankment

47 Villiers Street, Charing Cross, London WC2N 6NE

29-06-2008

My friend who lives outside London always makes me go with her to this bar when she’s in town…not that I protest all that much! It’s really cool inside with a good atmosphere, and the cheese plates are lovely too. all in all a fun experience.

Bam-Bou - Marylebone

1 Percy Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1DB

29-06-2008

You can do better for Vietnamese in London than Bam-Bou. The staff are not all that friendly and they sort of rush you through your meal. The food is perfectly adequate, but it doesn’t always come up piping hot, and I have had the same dishes better elsewhere.

Wagamama - Covent Garden

1a Tavistock Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7PG

29-06-2008

Wagamamas is not the most incredible japanese you will ever have, but it’s cheap ad reliable, and the staff are usually pretty friendly. it’s great for having a quick bite to eat before the theatre, or catching up with friends after work when you dont necessarily want to be there all evening.

Ping Pong - Fitzrovia

48 Eastcastle St, Soho, London W1W 8DX

29-06-2008

I find it hard to be objective with this restaurant because i was taken there by a friend but im not the biggest fan of dim sum, which isnt really fair now is it, but i can appreciate that for those who like dim sum, it’s a very good restaurant. the dtaff are friendly, the food is hot and varied, and it’s got a great atmosphere at all times of the day.
