Typically good quality Young's pub and hotel.

Ideally placed for local office workers, visiting dignitaries to Wandsworth Town Hall, and those about to be sentenced to life at the Registry Office, the Brewers Inn has 16 en-suite bedrooms, a large and comfy pub, a large and comfy dining room, and a beautifully large and comfy "Moroccan Room".

The pub gives a warm welcome, good value food, and Wells & Youngs ales under its beamed ceilings. The wood panelling on the walls actually adds to the feeling that you're in a swisher inn rather than an old man's pub. This means that for my tastes, it's not as relaxing as it could be and has the transient ambience of most hotel bars.

The dining room, range of food and prices all look pretty appealing.

There's private parking and a small beer garden out the back, which those wanting fresh air or the nicotine-tainted equivalent should appreciate.

There are one or two TVs around but this is a civilised inn, so the volume's turned down so as not to disturb those taking advantage of the Wi-Fi, playing board games or dozing by the fire in winter.

The Moroccan Room looks lovely. Wooden shutters, lanterns and colourfully-cushioned seating would be just the venue for a few dozen guests to have a gut-busting buffet.

Very moreish for meetings and parties, I'm sure.

Was there tonight too and - as a Byron virgin - I have now become another firm fan.

Naturally we received a warm welcome on their opening night but the impression I got was that the great service, fab food, and fun decor are just the way that Byron Hamburgers roll.

The marvellous beers involved in their Craft Beer season during this summer were cracking too. Can highly recommend the Camden Wheat Beer.

The house burger (dry cure bacon, mature Cheddar and Byron sauce) totally hit the spot, the fries were pretty good, and the macaroni cheese has a wonderfully thick and flavoursome crust on top.

No idea how we managed to fit them in, but the desserts were devilishly good. I preferred the almond tart to the banana split but it was a close run thing.

As Gary mentioned above, the atmosphere was just the ticket – colourful seats, good tunes and the occasional model cow.

Byron Putney deserves to do well with such attention to detail and quality. They'll probably make mincemeat out the decidedly poky and cramped GBK around the corner.

It's such a shame that this pub suffers from its location because it really is rather good.

Great service, nice Wells & Young's beers, clean and smart, and a place so large that it can cater for pretty much everyone all at the same time.

Separate areas for dining and watching sport on the TV help, as does the pretty big beer garden and conservatory. Not seen a pub garden so large since the Edinboro Castle in Camden - it looks a lot nicer though as it's been landscaped and has heaters on the decking, meaning it can be used all year round.

The location is the only downside to be honest. It's a bit out of the way but as it's right next to Putney Bridge Road, the rail tracks and the flight path, the beer garden might get a bit noisy. Not a problem if you're inside or outside with a crowd of friends or family though.

It's a good job they put on so many lively events to bring people out of the way. The occasional sports on the TV (but not all the time), a tasty Sunday roast, quiz nights on Mondays, poker nights on Wednesdays, and gourmet burger nights on Thursdays mean that this is a lovely lively place to visit.

Not sure I'd come here unless I was living/working locally but I'd definitely consider it for large groups and parties or a barbecue.

As you can no doubt tell from my photo, I loved this place.

This was my nearest museum when I lived in Tooting Bec and its rather limited opening hours and free admission only served to urge me inside one Saturday, accompanied by a friend easily bribed/persuaded by beer.

It may not look like much from the outside (except for an uncanny resemblance to the Wimbledon Sewing Machine Company in which it's found), but with somewhat limited resources they've done well, stitching together hundreds of sewing machines from the last two centuries in just a few rooms.

These fine examples of mechanical majesty include the very first model by Singer. You can only imagine my excitement at seeing that.

If you're in the vicinity of this marvellous museum on the first Saturday of a month (providing it's between 2pm and 5pm), then it might be worth a look. If you're into that kind of thing. Or it's hailing.

I've been going to this pub for beers and a bite to eat for over 10 years now as my monthly trips to Rye usually lead to a pint with my parents.

Good service and well-kept ales are always on hand, and its decent size means there's usually space for everyone.

The meals I've had in the "Wipers" have been great for quality and value (hence the photo of a delicious dressed crab uploaded to this profile), and usually use the freshest seasonal ingredients the area has to offer. Seafood's usually the speciality, especially during the Rye Scallop Festival, and the shared platter is well worth trying if you have a few fellow fish-eating foodies with you.

You'll definitely have to book early for a Sunday lunch in my experience.

The pub's very comfortable, whether you're sat by the fire in winter or in the big beer garden in the summer, and if you're looking for entertainment then visit on a Friday when local bands take centre stage.

Great selection of beers from the US and all around the rest of our planet, good atmosphere (as Farnambilly has already said, and unlike our planet) and very knowledgeable staff.

Possibly a bit of a pain for some people to get to location-wise but if you're in the area for decent food anyway (Santa Maria del Sur, Enak Enak, Tom Ilic, etc), then it's just the place for pre- or post-meal drinks.

Personally, I'm local and I use it for post-drinks drinks.
