Une charmant pub traditionnel installé dans un paysage spectaculaire. Cette zone est étonnamment peu connue, et hors des circuits touristiques du nord du Pays de Galles et les observateurs d'oiseaux, ainsi que les motards vont adorer et c'est aussi populaire parmi les brigades de Land-Rovers amatrices de tout-terrain. Le lac Vyrnwy n'est pas loin et mérite le détour. La nourriture est un à prix raisonnable et une partie des plats spéciaux est tout à fait inhabituelle ... voir la revue Phil Chambers sur la truite qu'il a mangée. Le personnel est amical et l'endroit est très populaire, donc réservez au moins une semaine à l'avance pour une table au restaurant un samedi. Je sors toujours de là trop tard et je me retrouve tout le temps au bar, qui est tout aussi agréable et dispose d'un feu de cheminée. Il aussi la possibilité de se loger et parfois des offres spéciales, comme dans l'un des B & B avant le 31 Mars de cette année. Je vis trop près pour rester, mais j'ai entendu dire que le petit déjeuner est incroyable, et les photos sur le site montrent des chambres confortables.

This is a lovely traditional pub set in spectacular scenery. Its in an area that's surprisingly not well known, and well off the North Wales tourist route.Walkers and bird watchers, as well as mountain bikers would love it and its popular with the off -roading land rover brigade too. Lake Vyrnwy is not far and well worth seeing.

The food is reasonably priced and some of the Specials are quite unusual... see Phil Chambers' review of the trout he had. The staff are friendly and the place is very popular, so book at least a week in advance for a table in the restaurant on a Saturday. I always leave it too late and end up in the bar, although this is also pleasant and has a roaring open fire. There is accommodation here too, and sometimes there are offers such as two for one B&B before 31st March this year. I live too locally to stay, but I overheard those that did saying the breakfast is amazing, and the photos on the website show comfortable rooms.

Pasamos aquí tres noches en enero cuando estaba nevando mucho. Es un establo ecológico. La calefacción central se producía por un sistema de intercambio de calor que venía de una larga tubería del suelo. El alojamiento es sofisticado y muy relajante. El jacuzzi era especialmente bueno. Colin, el dueño, te deja solo y te ofrece sugerencias para paseos, pubs etc. Puedes pedir un desayuno fantástico, con opciones que te llevan al establo a la hora que digas. Había cinco opciones de fruta fresca y un desayuno inglés muy bien cocinado y generoso con productos locales acompañado de algunas conservas caseras para las tostadas. Pasamos un tiempo estupendo, leyendo y relajándonos junto al fuego mientras disfrutábamos de las vistas. Fowey está a un paseo en coche. En enero estaba muy tranquilo, pero creo que hay mucho ambiente en verano. Mayo y septiembre son las mejores épocas según Colin.

We stayed here for three nights in January when it was snowing heavily, in an 'Eco Barn'. The underfloor heating was provided by a heat exchange system from a long slinky pipe in the ground. The accommodation is stylish and very relaxing. The jacusi was particularly good. Colin, the owner will leave you alone, or will offer suggestions for walks, pubs etc. A fantastic breakfast can be pre - ordered, with choices to be brought to the barn at an agreed time. The fresh fruit consisted of at least 5 options in a serving dish, as well as a very well cooked and generous ' full English', sourced from local producers, accompanied by home made preserves to go with the toast. We had a very enjoyable stay, reading and relaxing by the log fire whilst enjoying scenic views . Fowey is a short drive away. In January it was quiet, but I believe gets very busy in the Summer. May and September are best according to Colin and he should know.

Nous sommes restés ici pendant trois nuits en Janvier quand il neigeait beaucoup, dans une "Grange ecolo". Le chauffage au sol a été fournie par un système d'échange de chaleur à partir d'un long tuyau dans le sol. Les chambres sont élégantes et très relaxantes. Le jacuzzi etait particulièrement bien. Colin, le propriétaire vous laissera tranquille, ou vous fera des suggestions pour des promenades, pubs etc. Un fantastique petit déjeuner peut être pré - commande, avec des choix qui peuvent etre apportes à la grange à une heure convenue. Les fruits frais se composait d'au moins 5 options dans un plat, ainsi qu'un tres bon petit dejeuner anglais en provenance de producteurs locaux, accompagnés par la confiture maison pour accompagner le pain grillé. Nous avons eu un séjour très agréable, en lisant et se reposant au pres du feu de bois tout en bénéficiant d'une vue panoramique. Fowey est a courte distance en voiture. En Janvier, tout était calme, mais je crois que c'est très rempli en été. Mai et Septembre sont les meilleurs mois selon Colin et il devrait en savoir quelque chose.

Me encantó mi estancia aquí. Las zonas públicas son espaciosas, limpias y agradables y la cama fue una de las más cómodas en las que haya dormido. ¡La ducha era genial también! Está en una calle tranquila pero no lejos de ningún sitio en Hamburgo y hay un agradable parque cerca. Ojalá hubiera leído la reseña sobre el desayuno a 20€ antes de haberlo probado. Desayunamos cerca la mayoría de los días, pero uno, como llovía, decidimos probar. Es cierto que es un desayuno genial con mucha variedad, con eso cualquiera estaría contento, pero con el cambio que hay ahora es un poco exagerado. Está bien si estás de viaje de negocios de todos modos, y hay mucha variedad.

J'ai vraiment aime mon sejour ici. Les parties publiques sont spacieuses, propres et agreables et le lit etait l'un des plus confortables sur lequel je n'ai jamais dormi. La douche etait super aussi! C'est une rue assez calme mais pas trop loin de Hambourg, et il y a un joli parc tout pres. Si seulement j'avais lu le commentaire precedent sur le petit dejeuner a 20 euros avant de l'avoir essaye. On a pris le petit dejeuner tout pres la plupart du temps, mais comme il pleuvait on a decide de le prendre ici. Il est vrai que c'etait un bon petit dejeuner avec un choix enorme, pour satisfaire tout le monde, mais comme les taux d'echange est a environ un sur un en ce moment, c'est un peu cher. C'est bien si vous etes en voyage d'affaires par contre, et c'est quand meme un bon choix.

I just loved the atmosphere here. It was very full but the service was great and the hearty food hit the spot. I wanted to linger and take in the interesting surroundings of the old apothecary shop. I’ll put this at the top of my visit list next time I’m in Hamburg. Give it a try. It bistro style,not flashy, but honest and enjoyable.

All women and a few men will love this small but perfectly formed shop.The jewelry is mostly of individual design and so you can find unusual and stylish bracelets bangles, beads and earrings, which will not be worn by anyone else. All at a reasonable price too, for this individuality.There are also some lovely shoes and bags. Lottie the dog is a great addition and large photos of her adorn the walls. All items are perfectly gift wrapped, so its a great choice for presents as all the wrapping is done so stylishly for you. The owner Daniella, speaks good English and is most helpful, even the day after bought things we called in as we can’t speak German ( shame on us)and could not find a shop we were looking for in the area. She told us it had closed and drew a map and gave bus and train routes to help us fine the alternative branch some distance away.As I say, its a small shop and you might miss it but its well worth searching out and treating yourself or someone special.Next time I’m in Hamburg, I’ll be straight round

We ate here at lunch time. It was busy but as we arrived early we were served speedily. I enjoyed my meal and the waiter was friendly. Ok its not the best Italian restaurant I have visited but if you are nearby and want something pleasant to eat , it will fit the bill
