My friends and i really enjoyed going here with our children on the recommendation of another friend who makes all her husbands gifts from their children here!
you can decorate anything from a mug or a plate to getting your childs feet and hands moulded in clay. i made a lovely mug for Father's Day which had my babies feet prints on it. The staff are very helpful and are always available to give you advise although it is very much you doing the artwork so be prepared to be "hands on" and covered in paint, although kids are definitely encouraged to have fun and make a mess.
There is a cafe and small soft play area to keep kids occupied whilst you relax with a cuppa after all your hard work.
also they can organise childrens parties which as i recall are very reasonably priced.
Definitely something special to do on a rainy day!

perfect if you want a night out in Edinburgh but dont want to go into the city centre. this bar has a gorgeous, modern interior with excellent bar staff. Perfect for couples as well as a night out with a group of friends as there is always great music playing and friendly bar staff who make both regular customers and new comers feel welcome.
Also has a great relaxed atmosphere during the day where you can sit outside and watch the world go by whilst enjoying either a drink or a cup of coffee. There is also free wireless internet connection available!
Definitely worth a visit!

i have never been disappointed when i have visited this restaurant.
Directly opposite Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre so great for pre-show dinner.
although quite a large restaurant the atmosphere is always personal and relaxed and is perfect for both an intimate dinner with a loved one and a fun night out with the girls!
the service is fast but you are never made to feel rushed to leave.
i always enjoy the food in guillianos which is guaranteed to be hot, fresh and tasty.
Very child friendly with child size portions available from the menu, high chairs and staff who are very attentive to small people.

one of the only places i know of in Edinburgh that do a great carvery. no need to book and you are usually guaranteed a table with not too much of a wait.
the food is always hot, fresh and plentiful and you can help yourself to how every much or little you want and can even return for seconds. There is also an extensive menu if you dont wish the carvery.
i have enjoyed many a great lunch here with friends and family and we all enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. There are high chairs for babies and plenty of room if you need to take a buggy into the restaurant as the tables are not all squashed together.
although the main course is self service, the staff who take your drink, starter and sweet order are all very pleasant and efficient.
Worth a visit!

This is definitely an old favourite amongst drinkers in Edinburgh.
I used to frequent this bar a lot in my "clubbing" days and when i went back recently with work colleagues from out of town it was great to see that it still lived up to the great things i told them about it.
the customers in this bar are of all ages from students to old timers who are all out to have a drink, hear great music, dance and sing along. a definite party pub but would only recommend going here after 11pm when it really livens up (open till 2/3am, 5am during the Edinburgh Festival!)
Staff deal with any bar queues quickly and you never feel like you are hanging about being ignored by bar staff.
not to be missed if you want a great end to your night!

this shop provides absolutely everything you need for the arrival of your new baby...and lots of stuff you didnt realise you need until you go there.
The biggest plus point of this store is that they allow you to put down a deposit on everything you are buying and make payments as your pregnancy goes on so no big cash payouts all at the one time.
the staff are very friendly and knowledgable on their products which proves to be a god-send when it is your first baby and have no real idea of what will be most suitable for your needs and is great that at least someone is on hand to be able to talk you through stage by stage on how to fold down a buggy!
Everything i reserved was there when i went to pick up after giving 48 hours notice and there was no delays or waiting for stock.
Excellent store!

if you are able to use this venue i would highly recommend.
the staff are so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere very relaxed.
i had my wedding reception here and the Manager and her team could not have done more do ensure that my special day ran smoothly.
the club had a makeover a few years ago and the accomodation is clean, fresh and relaxed.
All my guests had an excellent time and those that stayed overnight were highly impressed and many would love to come back and use this as a base whilst in Edinburgh.
Try it if you can! you wont be disappointed!

I have been to many beauty salons in Edinburgh and this definitely rates as the best. it is also open on Sundays which is a bonus if you are working full time!
I have had manicures, pedicures and waxing here and have been impressed by the friendly, professional and relaxed atmosphere.
the best treatment i received was the pedicure which was unlike any other pedicure i have had. Other salons only seem to tickled your feet whilst the staff here soaked and massaged my feet, removed all my dry skin and exfoliated my lower legs as well as giving a great pedicure that lasted for weeks! Sitting in a massage chair whilst having my feet thoroughly "seen to" was heaven. i left walking on air even whilst 8 months pregnant!

This salon has only been open a couple of months since Norrie (Preston) moved from St Stephen Street and Canonmills.
The salon is cosy but trendy at the same time!
It is great to go into a salon where you are made to feel welcome whether a new client or one of Norrie's many returning clients.
One of the best things about this salon, other than the excellent results, is that it is very unpretentious unlike many hairdressers in Edinburgh. You can have a laugh and a gossip and always leave feeling like you have just visited an old friend (who has also given you a great haircut)!
Would highly recommend!!!!
