Enzo Due is less than 100 m from our apartment; we have walked past many times and never made it in. Normally we would go to Da Enzo in Wexstrasse, which we love, but last night made the decision to give it a try. As expected the food was really superb - scallops with roasted asparagus; baby squid on a lentel and fennel salad, then shared Sea Bass baked in salt, finished with a shared taster of 4 puddings. Add to that 2 bottles (one we remembered, the other we didnt!) and it all ended up the wrong side of 170 euro for 2 people! But the food was great, as was the service. Definitely worth a four star review.
However, I would say that it could be a really good place for a lovely meal on a warm sunny day or evening, however at other times you might want to take ear plugs! The tables are crammed together and the acoustics are just ear piercing. I couldn't hear my wife sitting just a metre in front of me! So a star less than that to give three stars.
I look forward to going back though in the summer, to see how it compares.

I often come to Europa Passage for my lunch break since it has such a large range of quick, hot and cheap options.
Yesterday I had followed a 12k walk the evening before with a 20k bike ride that morning. In total that was about 2000 calories worth of exercise; I had a proper breakfast but my 1pm I was REALLY hungry again!
So I came to Adria Lounge. For a Döner Teller!!
€9.50 gets you a huuuge plate of Döner Veal, Salad, Rice and excellent Chilli Sauce. No bread (good) and a diet Cola. I didn’t need to eat again that day after this meal!
It’s a bit odd that you pay at one till then need to queue again for your food, even if you want to sit and eat in the tables behind the till however it doesn’t take that long.
One other thing about the Adria Lounge is that they have a sort of robot machine which cuts the meat instead of people doing it, and apparently there is some sort of TV cult around this more to do with German grammar of the guy who invented it rather than the machine itself – however I am English and to be perfectly honest that’s completely lost on me….
No, it’s not the cheapest (which you should avoid anyway) or the best in Hamburg (for me this is currently the Mr Kebab/Peacestanbul team mainly due to the owners, location and the clientele) but for a big tasty fill up during lunch, not involving bread or chips, it’s pretty good and I am sure I will come back soon.

If you like turkish food, then Adria lounge is great for a fill up over lunch. Nice range of cooking, from kebabs through to stews and curries.
Good prices, friendly staff and wholesome hearty turkish food. We come here quite a lot during the week.

Souper salad is my top choice for a quick, filling tasty lunch.
I will come here once or twice a week as it’s just down the street from Qype’s head office. The staff speak English, are very friendly and the place is spacious and spotless.
Essentially its a comprehensive salad buffet with a fixed choice of soup or stews as well. All comes with unlimited bread, salad dressing and a free Apple!
Eaten communal style on shared benches, there’s always enough space the food is great!

He bought a very (very!!) expensive handmade suede jacket about a year ago, but the sleeves had all frayed plus they had stretched since the materials it is made from are so fine.
So we dropped the jacket off at 1pm yesterday and as promised it was all fixed and sorted by midday today. The stitching used for the repair is almost invisible but also perfectly matches the stitching for the rest of the jacket.
So in/out chop, trim, sew: Good as new for €18 all in. Which is a fraction of the cost of the jacket in the first place.
My Father is very pleased with his 'new' jacket!

Like any Wetherspoons it's cheap and OK. Doesn't try and be fancy, the menu is the same as everywhere else, plus the beer is slightly within sell-by date but who cares.

Easy and quick to order, lovely tasty food on offer, friendly service and everyone left happy.
Good times is now more or less my default place for a quick tasty work lunch when I am in Berlin.

It's a great big bavarian themed beer hall - complete with beer wenches, Steins and oompah band
A race to get get full to the gills with masses or beer, German food then loudly sing well known German songs.
When I was there, I joined two of the waiting staff as we watched a little mouse scuttle between two tables and the bar to run behind one of the service tables. They looked at each other and went about their business.
So not a place to impress anyone, but as the Hofbrauhaus in Hamburg it does what it says on the tin. I'd come again to watch Football or for a stag do, but that's about it.

A place we all used to come to when it opened for fun, happy times and to meet great people.
Sadly these days the place is now a 'sports bar' with football on the big screens and a limited selection of fizzy alcopops by way of refreshment.
The redeeming feature is the upstairs area and sundeck which is nice for private events. So The Corner bar now gets 3 stars instead of 2 it would for the downstairs areas.
snelgrovek The Corner House closed for refurbishment on 23rd August 2012 and re-opened on 31st August with a great new look.
The sports bar is no more, the tired decor gone, along with the fizzy pops. I’ve seen this once dire pub become a growing success with lots of new Customers, great entertainment and a strong team of friendly bar staff.
They even have a new website after the eviction of the previous landlord www.thecornerhousewindsor.co.uk
